چکیده

Aspartic acid is prepared chemically or by the fermentation of carbohydrates. Currently, low molecular weight polyaspartic acids are prepared commercially by heating aspartic acid at high temperatures (>220 C) for several hours in the solid state. In an effort to develop a more rapid, continuous, melt polymerization scheme, aspartic acid was copolymerized with adipic, azelaic, sebacic, and dodecanedioic acids using a vented twin-screw extruder. Copolymers having ratios of aspartic/diacid 16 and Mw up to 9100 were prepared at temperatures of 240–260 C and residence times of only about 5 min. Mw generally increased with aspartic/ diacid ratio but melt viscosities became very high and processing became difficult at ratios >16. Most of the copolymers exhibited inhibition of calcium carbonate precipitation at concentrations similar to that of pure polyaspartic acid and thus may find application as antiscalants. Synthesis and Functionalization of Gold Nanoparticles by Using of Poly Functional Amino Acids

Synthesis and characterization of two functionalized gold nanoparticles by using of two poly functional amino acids (L-Arginine and L-Aspartic acid) are reported. The gold nanoparticles were reduced by sodium citrate and functionalized with L-Arginine at the pH of 7 and 11 and L-Aspartic acid at the pH of 7. Transmission electron microscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, zeta p...

Long-Chain Polyesters via Chemical Catalytic Conversions of Fatty Acid Esters

Plant oils with their long linear methylene sequences are attractive substrates for polymeric materials, such as long-chain aliphatic polyesters and polyamides. Existing biotechnological routes for their conversion to long-chain linear a,ro-dicarboxylic acid derivatives have recently been complemented by chemical catalytic conversions. This contribution discusses and compares the conversion of ...

Zirconium Dodecylphosphonate: Selective and Constructive Catalyst for Preparation of 2-Alkyl Benzoxazoles from Aliphatic Carboxylic Acids

In this study, zirconium dodecylphosphonate was synthesized by the reported method in scientific literature. 2-Alkylbenzoxazoles were prepared from aliphatic carboxylic acids and 2-aminophenol in the presence of this catalyst under solvent-free conditions at 100°C. Their structures were recognized by IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. Then, we used aromatic carboxylic acids in t...

Oxidation effect on templating of metal oxide nanoparticles within block copolymers

Amphiphilic norbornene-b-(norbornene dicarboxylic acid) diblock copolymers with different block ratios were prepared as templates for the incorporation of iron ions using an ion exchange protocol. The disordered arrangement of iron oxide particles within these copolymers was attributed to the oxidation of the iron ions and the strong interactions between iron oxide nanoparticles, particularly a...

Quinoline based receptor in fluorometric discrimination of carboxylic acids

Quinoline and naphthalene-based fluororeceptors 1 and 2 have been designed and synthesized for detection of hydroxy carboxylic acids in less polar solvents. The receptor 1 shows monomer emission quenching followed by excimer emission upon hydrogen bond-mediated complexation of carboxylic acids. The excimer emission distinguishes aromatic dicarboxylic acids from aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and ...
